나는 이전 작업들에서 창문과 문이 없는 바깥풍경을 만들어왔다. 작업 “empty”에서는 그 실내풍경을, 그 타인의 내면을 보여 주고자 한다.
스스로를 지키기 위한 타인은 작품 속에서 벽돌을 하나하나 쌓아간다, 그것은 사회로부터 고립을 통해 그만의 이데아적인 공간을 구축해가는 과정이며, 그의 몸짓은 절박하다.
그러나, 벽돌을 쌓아 벽을 완성하고 그만의 이데아적인 공간을 완성했을 때…
결국, 그곳에 남게 된 허한 공간만큼이나, 그의 마음에는 공허함만이 남게 되고, 그가 쌓아 만든 벽 또한 또 다른 망(網)이었음을 자각한다.

In a previous work, I made outside landscapes that had no windows or doors. Through this piece, called “Empty,” I tried to show indoor scenes, the inside of people.
In this piece, people cumulate bricks one by one to protect themselves. This is a process in which people build their own ideal space by isolating themselves from society. They desperately cling to their work.
However, when they finish cumulating bricks and complete their ideal space, only an empty space is left and they just feel hollow in the end.
They then realize the wall they made is another net.
